Why Thomas Earnshaw?

The Beagle Swiss Made Skeleton Automatic is an outstanding tribute to the famed Cherokee class brig-sloop of the Royal Navy

HMS Beagle was of course no ordinary vessel. It was and remains one of the most important ships to set sail on one of the most important journey of mankind.

Aboard the Beagle’s second voyage from 1831 to 1836, which was helmed by Robert Fitzroy – was one Charles Darwin.

Charles Darwin would eventually go on to write his seminal work on the evolution of man, “On The Origin of Species” in 1859.

It was on the Beagle and her epic circumnavigation of the globe that inspired and gave rise to Darwin’s breakthrough and controversial thesis of evolution.

When navigation was at the behest of the chronometers on board ships of the day, it was one manufactured by Thomas Earnshaw that kept track and helped navigate the Beagle across the seas.

Better in the Flesh !

I just bought this watch in the Black Friday sale, and could not be happier with it. It took only 4 days to arrive here in Australia from the UK midlands;brilliant! The other thing that stands out in the week or so that I have had it is that the photos on the website do not do this watch any justice: It looks ten times better in the flesh. seriously it doesn't make sense but the watch just looks and obviously feels that good, it has some undertones of Cartier and Rolex design cues with the black on white Roman numerals and solo gold tone strip along the bracelet. The size is perfect for my 7.5 inch wrist;I usually wear 44mm or larger,Iwas a little concerned about the stated 42mm diameter, but I guess because it is a bracelet watch it looks bigger. The quality of the steel is top notch, as good as some of the available Swiss brands under the 1000 pound sterling mark, it may not have the ETA movement but I have found out the inter T 10 movement is good value at the price range. I am not sure where it is assembled, maybe Switzerland as this watch was sent from Uk; but it doesn't really matter as it obviously conforms to the Swiss standard and I think the quality looks great. So all in all a well balanced, styled Swiss Made watch from Earnshaw.
